Expressing in a metaphorical way, we can say that Chicago is “The City of Events”, as the variety of the last once is impressing indeed. Where ever you look, in all the aspects and realms of both cultural and entertainment life, a tremendous variety of events are organized and led.
Starting with the theatre district, it is important to say that it has been completely revitalized and rejuvenated within the last few years, so here you’ll be pleased with a range of state-of-art plays, operas, comedies, and dramas, performed at Piper’s Alley Theatre. A genuine art creature is the Briar Street Theatre as well.
When it comes to concerts, here Chicago reins. The United Centre of Allstate Arena is a world-wide leader in this aspect, offering all the existent genres to its spectators: jazz, blues, classical, alternative, rock, etc. The outdoor Tweeter Centre and the House of Blues will similarly pamper you from head to toe, because they offer to its guests “art in art”.
And for those who are the passionate festival fans will be an immense joy to learn that in July Chicago hosts the annual Blue Festival and in June- the Taste of Chicago, which is organized annually and takes its place at Grand Park. Late August is a time for fun also- the Chicago Latin Music Festival spreads the sounds of salsa, cumbias, and meringue through the whole city of Chicago and doesn’t let its residents and newcomers to stay nonchalant and indifferent. Everybody takes part in this thrilling show and it really makes you feel excited and happy.
